The HazCat Radiation Detector is a
compact, general purpose survey meter capable of detecting alpha, beta,
gamma, and x-rays over 3 selectable ranges. A red count light flashes
and a beep sounds with each radioactive event detected.
This radiation detector is used to screen radioactive compounds so they
are not processed through the HazCat Chemical Identification System.
It is simple to use. Just turn it on and hold the sampling window near
the unknown compound. An increase of 3-4 times the normal background
reading indicates a radioactive compound that should not be analyzed
with HazCat.
The monitor is powered by a 9 volt battery that will last 2000 hours at
normal background levels. A vinyl carrying case is included. The monitor
may be stored in the HazCat Kit.
Instructions for integrating the radiation monitor into the HazCat
Chemical Identification System are included with the monitor. Haztech
Systems can provide annual maintenance service for an additional fee.
